Beach Country - Cabedelo, Brazil

May 27, 2019

In this video of our series Best Sailing Destinations we present our personal best-of beaches of the three Brasilian states Rio Grande do Norte, Paraiba and Pernambuco, all of them max. 2 hours drive from the great starting point Marina Jacaré Village, Cabedelo. While we were waiting for the paint on Seefalke to dry, we had plenty of time to explore the beautiful beaches and a few other points of interest in the area. While lots of sailors take long trips to Rio de Janeiro or Belem we rather wanted to explore the vicinity of Cabedelo. This video is our personal best-of the most stunning beaches of Rio Grande do Norte, Paraiba and Pernambuco. We picked beaches with very different character, from quiet to touristy, from city to nature.

8 Reasons to Love CAPE VERDE

In this video of our series Best Sailing Destinations we give our personal 8 reasons to love Cape Verde, especially Sao Vicente and Mindelo. It is not a traveling guide, rather a personal declaration of love to this small African country that - we hope - will inspire you to travel there one day.

Perhaps you have made the experience that the rougher the land the friendlier its inhabitants. Cape Verde is such a place. The land, basically the tops of oceanic volcanoes, is hostile and for a good reason was uninhabited until the Portuguese settled on it in the 16th century: Cape Verde has almost no natural water resources. But the rough living conditions have made the Cape Verdeans very friendly and hospitable. The mix of African and European cultures made them tolerant and is enriching for Cape Verdean music and art. All this makes this tiny archipelago on the Western tip of Africa, that many people haven’t even heard of, a worthwhile travel destination. This video is not a travel guide. We give eight reasons why we love Cape Verde. We hope we can inspire you to put Cape Verde on your travel wish list. Read Michelle's Blog "THE MANY COLORS OF CAPE VERDE"

Playa de Rodas - The Most Beautiful Beach in the World

November 6, 2018

On our way from Vigo, Spain to Porto, Portugal, we decided to take a little detour and check out Playa de Rodas, which is considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

It did not disappoint.

Playa de Rodas is a slightly curved beach about 700 meters long on the Spanish Cies Islands, which is now a national park. The British newspaper, The Guardian, chose it as the most beautiful beach in the world in 2007.

We anchored about 50 meters from the shore and enjoyed the spectacular scenery! We didn’t have time to get out and explore the island, but we captured some amazing Drone footage that we are proud to share with you! We hope you enjoy it!

Please leave us a comment and let us know about the most beautiful beach you’ve ever seen!
