Getting it Done! (July 18, 2018)

Our holiday with the kids is over and I'm back in the good ole' USA. It was so great to have that time with them. We will miss them so much!

I've been really focusing on work so that I can continue to keep my clients happy while at sea. This will be a big topic for to work while sailing. It won't be easy, but thanks to modern technology, we at least have a fighting chance. I always say that as long as I have my laptop, my phone, and internet, then I can work from anywhere in the world (#myofficetoday). Check out some of my travel blogs on my Navigate Content website. The problem is that sometimes we won't have internet, so I'm really trying to get ahead . . . just in case!

Meanwhile, Maik traveled to Italy to visit clients and then he'll be back in Stralsund tomorrow to work on the boat and hopefully take care of the last minute mechanical and equipment tasks. Here in Gulf Shores, the pups and I are also getting things done. Monday was shot day for the Seadogs and the humans!  Many countries we will visit have vaccination requirements for all living things who want to enter.  For me, I got Hep A, Hep B, Typhoid, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis vaccinations. Cap'n Jack and Scout already had their microchips implanted and rabies vaccinations, but also had to get a rabies titer. Meanwhile, we are working on getting USDA-certified health certificates for them. This picture shows how worn out the dogs were after all our errands. It's a lot of work, but I know it will be worth it!

Coordination to transport myself and the puppies to Germany by air is underway. We learned last week that Maik will not be able to meet us in Frankfurt to help with getting the pups through customs after the international flight, but fortunately we have a customs broker to help with that. I'm still pretty nervous about that whole thing - much more nervous than transporting them by sea. If any of you have ever taken your pets on international flights, I could use some tips!  The countdown is on - T-minus 14 days!
